Going for an interview can make you nervous. Whether you get a job or not depends upon your interview. It is very important to make a good first impression. We are here to help you with the preparation.

You should ensure you have everything one day before the interview. Check that you are ready for the interview with this check list. Make sure you have everything given below:


Make a checklist


  • Company’s address
  • Directions on how to reach the place: Directions to reach the place, bus/train number, time it will take to reach
  • Contact person’s full name, designation
  • Contact phone number in case you need to connect

  • Job description so that you know what is expected of you and also the qualities you want to highlight during the interview
  • Details of the company: what does it do. Only then you can talk about why you want to work for the companyDocuments for interview
  • 2 passport size photographs in good condition
  • Experience letter from previous employers: The letter should be not folded or torn
  • Copy of last degree or school leaving certificate
  • Plastic folder to carry above documents
  • Contact details of your previous employer, in case you need to give a reference
  • Questions you want to ask Interviewer about the job: What will be your job, who will you report to, working time, holidays, probation period etc
  • Notepad and Pen in case you need to give a test or take notes during the interviewDress code for interview
  • Formal dress: Washed, ironed light coloured formal clothes.  Shirt should have all buttons.  No button should be broken. Girls should take care not to wear revealing clothes.
  • 1 clean handkerchief or tissues to clean your face and hands when you reach interview address
  • Clean, polished shoes or closed sandals (for women) Men should wear clean socks also
  • Nails cleaned and trimmed
  • Hair cut or neatly tied if long
  • Not too much jewellery: Men should avoid all jewellery, and women should wear minimal jewellery
